Meet the Owner

Dionne Shaheed has 15+ years of experience supporting companies' administrative and operational processes in various industries, including finance, retail, and consulting. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Claflin University, she began her career as a Rational Software Engineer at the International Business Machines Corporation (IBM). From there she worked with a couple of corporations in the retail and finance industries, honing her operations and management skills. She started How May I Assist, LLC (dba HMIA, LLC) in August 2018 to provide administrative support to small business owners so they can reclaim their time. She also helps them to generate more revenue by providing business development support.

Aside from being an entrepreneur, Dionne is a wife, mom, blogger, and foodie. Some of her favorite things include spending time with family, traveling, dining out, and having a good laugh. She's a native of Washington, DC but after years of residing in several states across the US, she has settled in South Carolina.
