We'd like to spotlight our client, Dr. Swiyyah K. Fareed, who has just published her first book. This book was written by her late husband, Imam Vernon M. Fareed, and is titled, "Fasting for Allah in the Blessed Month of Ramadan". The book was originally written by Imam Fareed in 2017 and Dr. Fareed recently reformatted and published it. Below is the Preface providing more context about the book.

The publication that you have in your possession is part of a project to produce books on the Arkaan Al-Islam (the five pillars of Al-Islam), or “The Mighty Five” as Imam W. Deen Mohammed would sometimes refer to them. This was obviously a testament to the power of these essentials in the lives of Muslims when they adopted and practiced.

Since I began working on this book it has undergone several title changes prior to settling on the current one. In an almost inspired manner, I kept being drawn to two things: 1. Fasting is for Allah (as stated in Hadith Qudsi – the Sacred Sayings of G-d), 2. Ramadan is a Blessed Month (according to what Allah Himself says of it in His Book); thus, the title “Fasting for Allah in the Blessed Month of Ramadan”. There are more meanings in these two ideas than what we see on the surface, and though we don’t have the time nor space to point out too many examples, following are just a couple. The fast (of Ramadan) is between the individual and Allah (the One True G-d), therefore the reality has to be respected, and this should restrain us from desiring to come between this sacred matter! Next, Allah says in the Qur’an that Ramadan is a Blessed Month (thus Ramadan Mubarak)), so whatever blessings come to us are ultimately from Him. We have to be aware that blessings come in many ways, sometimes we are cognizant of them and sometimes we aren’t!

We trust that this publication will assist the believer in understanding the obligations of the fast and assist them in fulfilling their duty before Allah!
